Human Radiation Experiments
The Office of Human Radiation Experiments, established in March 1994, leads the Department of Energy's efforts to tell the agency's Cold War story of radiation research using human subjects. We have undertaken an intensive effort to identify and catalog relevant historical documents from DOE's 3.2 million cubic feet of records scattered across the country. Internet access to these resources is a key part of making DOE more open and responsive to the American public.

TI SUICIDE From Jennifer M: I received a strange and sad phone call tonight. A woman was going through her boyfriends cell phone to find out who he had been in contact with prior to his suicide. It was a TI who had contacted me in June about targetting. He described what was happening to him first in an email to me. His name was Darin Smith, a member of the Coast Guard. We talked on the phone for about an hour. He was very supportive to me and seemed to be knowledgeable about the technology. He knew what they were doing to him, but he didn't understand why or how they did it, like most of us.
He shot himself in the head, while driving, on Aug. 31st. 2006.
To any of you who knew him, I am very sorry. His girlfriend Tiffany, was asking me about this group. I'm still freaking out. He seemed so strong, when I last spoke to him in June. We have to stay tough guys. I'm having a hard time processing this, but I know that this is a supportive group. Please add Darin's name to any memorial group or list we have and let me know if you need more information on the case.

We must not let Darrin's life go unknown! This was a target that reached out to us and we all failed in a way to reach out and support him. Let's not allow another death.
I think there is something, more important than believing: Action! The world is full of dreamers, there aren't enough who will move ahead and begin to take concrete steps to actualize their vision.
Take action every day - some small dose at a time.
Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.
Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid only of standing still.
We are working hard, but it's the little things that we must do on a daily basis to expose what we are all going through. Please do anything and everything. I don't want to lose any of you.
We must stay close! We must stay organized and most important let's all be there for each other!!!!

Diese Zahlen nannte die Bundesbeauftragte Marianne Birthler der "Sächsischen Zeitung". Im Jahr 1990 sei darüber hinaus eine große Zahl von Personen, die im Staatsapparat der DDR - etwa beim Zoll - gearbeitet hätten, in den Dienst der Bundesrepublik übernommen worden. Dort arbeiteten sie heute noch. Birthler war in den vergangenen Tagen selbst in die Kritik geraten, weil ihre Behörde insgesamt 52 ehemalige Stasi-Mitarbeiter beschäftigt.
